Elissa Benson graduated from Leeds School of Physiotherapy in 1987.

She is now a highly skilled physiotherapist with over twenty-five years experience in the management of acute and long term neurological conditions. She has extensive experience of working both within the acute sector and the community, as an NHS employee and a private practitioner, holding clinical leadership roles and strategic commissioning responsibilities. Elissa has a specific interest in the management of stroke and acquired brain injury especially in a community setting. She was also involved in the development of a strategy for the Management of Long Term Conditions including Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis.

Elissa joined the team at Tonbridge Clinic in July 2015 accepting referrals for people with acute or longstanding neurological conditions and general mobility issues. She is able to assess and treat people in their own homes or in the clinic depending on which is the most appropriate.

Many years of experience locally have allowed Elissa to build a knowledge and understanding of relevant services and facilities. This, alongside an extensive network of contacts enables her to meet the varied needs of clients on an individual basis.

Elissa is registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) and the Health and Care Professions Council HCPC and is a member of The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Neurology (ACPIN)
